1999 standard tranny got wet
Went through a touchless car war with the heavy spray on underbody, after the wash it would not go into any gear. 20 minutes later it was fine........Two weeks ago I had the differential dropped and replace the left and right seals and the coverplate gasket on differential.....I drove it for 80 miles with no problem... I go to the same wash every week and no problem before. I drove it home and everything worked.....Could something have gotten wet to cause the gears not to engage...WTF any help or is it just a freak thing......

Do not take a C5 through a carwash like that. Too much can happen to the electricals/electronics.
Could have been an issue with the reverse lockout solenoid at the tranny to lock you out until things dried out
