Looking for a Performance Tuner ETC for my 04.!!!
Started recently racing my vette a few months and noticed most cars 0-60-70 would keep up(somewhat) with my vette. Of course top end nothing around town stood a chance. At work today a buddy mentioned a tuner might help (increasing torque and regearing my car[from what i understood] I guess im just asking for any suggestions for a performance tuner or what else i could do. I thought about turboing my car but college is definitely getting into the way of that. Any Help is appreciated guys
Thanks, Roy!

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Lets start out with:
Where do you live?
What have you done performance wise to the engine?
A4 or MN6/12??
What is your budget??
Do you want a mail order tune OR a full on shop tune?
What are your overall performance GOALS????

Engine is stock everything.
No clue what a4 etc means(sorry)
budget is around a grand.
And i know basic stuff about my c5 pretty much something i could do at my house, not to many local mechanics that can work on my car .
And goal wise just wanting a faster take off/ More torque. Seems my gearing/shifts are aimed at MPG right now(i would assume they would stock)

Those are "HAND HELD TUNING DEVICES" Unless you have an Automatic trans,,,, it provides limited tuning options..
IF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It were me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i would do ALL the engine mods that I could afford and then have it professional tuned.
Those would be:
headers
2001+ Intake manifold
vararam
ported throttle body
better exhaust
Those are the MINIMUM things that I would do to spend money on a tune.
If it were ME,,,,,,,,,,,, I would install headers and aftermarket CATs

There is an old saying ... speed costs - how fast do you want to go?
You have the automatic with probably 2:73 gears. A nice return for your buck might be replacing the rear with a Z-06 rear and then you would have 3:42 gearing. That would be about the biggest "bang" for your buck IMHO.
Set some goals! There are things I replaced and then upgraded again ...
I went from 2:73's to 3:42's and then to 3:73's (changing the gears will require a tune).
There are several tuners here (on the forum) that will assist you with the tune if you Mail your computer in to them. Most people seem very happy with those tunes and they will help you with the process if required.
good luck!

Do the gears 1st, for sure! With the gearing and shift improvements in the tune, you will be very pleasantly surprised.
