I'm looking at the same. Not sure I need the severe-duty pads - the "Performance" pads are much less cost - the kit K1560 is just $236 and $43 shipping ($269) at partstrain.com. The "extreme" pads (K1560-26) kit is $343 at Amazon less a 10% coupon on the page = $309, but the tax adds $30+ for me.

I did find a lot of positive forum mentions of the kits from BrakeMotive on eBay (used to be a Forum Vendor but no mas). The whole kit (rotors plus pads) is either $180 or $190 - not sure if there is a difference in the two listings. http://stores.ebay.com/Brakemotive

That plus a little G2 caliper paint seems a cheap way to get some great looks and - who knows? - maybe better performance too.

When I purchased my 04 in 2010 it needed pads and rotors BAD!
Purchased the Brakemotive kit off of ebay and 4 yrs later the rotors still look great, no cracks what so ever and getting some decent wear. On the other hand I wasn't crazy about their pads. Too much dust for so called 'Ceramic". Ditched the pads and replaced them with ACDelco ceramic pads.

Installed a set on my '03 Z06 back in October of 2011 and have experienced 0 problems.

Have only put about 20k miles on the car since then, though.
