Default Best Ramps for Lowered C5

Rather than getting all 4 corners up on stands which is a bit of a pain, I would like to put ramps under the front, then jack up the rear and use stands there. Looked at Rhino Ramps, but they look too steep.

So, any recommendation for the best car ramps for a mildly lowered C5? By mildly lowered, I mean that I am still on the original bolts, but adjusted as far as they can go.

I do have ramps I use for other vehicles, but they are way too steep for the C5's nose.

Thanks.

I use RaceRamps and love them. Best I've ever used.

Which Raceramps did you choose? Their web site has multiple options.

Thanks.

Default Home Brew

I used a bunch of 2 x 10's cut up and made my own. Made them such that I don't scrape driving up on them. Once up on the front, chock the front wheels and hike up the rear with a jack onto axle stands. I also leave the ramps and have landing blocks under the rears; paranoid kinda guy.

Rhino ramps are very sturdy and very cheap - try Advance Auto when they run a 40%-off coupon (which is about every day:-) ($37 or less).

Then for your "normal" ramps, get a pair of these to ease her on up. 2.25" high, nicely made and easily stored, beats the heck out of stacks of 2x8's etc. Using these as a First Stage, I can drive right on up with my lowered 2003.

Default ESCO 10498 jack stands

Forgot to mention that we have a Black Friday promotion running on the ESCO 10498 jack stands. The $115 per pair price includes shipping to destinations in the Continental USA. This offer is good through 01-Dec-2014.

ESCO 10498 stands feature a 4.25" diameter rubber padded saddle. Range from 13" to 21". Two holes in base allow for 15mm/35mm incremental adjustment.

Race Ramps- from my own experience you can't go wrong if ramps is the way you want to go. At the time I bought the 87" 2 piece ramps because of a great sale they had. Today I would go with their longer ramps to further reduce the angle. I needed to be able to get under the car as it is lowered and has a body modifications as well. (This is not the best image as I only had the driver side only up on the ramp for this so the fender gap is deceiving). I think any of their offerings would work for you.

This shot gives you some idea of ride/body height, like I said I get on the ramps without issue:

Thanks - like you I want to get it high enough that I can get underneath when needed. Just did a tranny fluid change using two jacks and 4 jackstands. Bit of a PITA! With the 2 piece set up, can you remove the ramp part once the car is up in the air? I would think it would obstruct access if it had to be there all the time.

I have the 67in 2 piece race ramps. The super light weight made it good investment, plus they do not slide. Easy to drive up on, especially with a clutch. And, being able to remove the rear section is priceless. Just remember to put them both back before backing down.

Along with the race ramps, you can get the car in the air with 2 floor jacks too. I have several floor jacks, and I find out I can do a lot more with 2, than 1. With 3 floor jacks you can lift the Whole car as a tripod. 2 jacks front, and 1 centered rear.

I have a couple of jacks, but first you get the front up (jack both sides) then get the stands in, then do the back. That's what I did last week. Only issue is my so called "racing" jack is extremely sensitive to release - no easing it down like I can with my HD jack. For which I have to drive up onto some lumber just to get it under.

Raceramps are the only ones that will work on my lowered car.
The ramps weigh about 1 lb.
They are super easy to store because they don't weigh anything !

What size are those and how do they stop from sliding across the floor when driving up them?
