I tried to reset theoil life remaining guage by pushing the reset button , no luck. Is there a trick on doing it, like holding your breath while pushing the reset. Any help..............Thanks

I just did that - no problem. IIRC you have to hold the reset button for a few seconds, not just give it a quick tap. You should hear the beep when it resets.

does that actually work??... mine will not reset with the car running, it has to be off with the key on... hold the reset button on the dic with the oil life monitor on the screen and it works fine... I know the gas pedal trick works on a lot of other older gm cars/trucks but didn't know it did on ours

not to be glib, but did you try looking in the owners manual, most things are in there. glad you go it reset though

just reset mine today. all i did was hold the reset button down until it reset to 100% with key on engine off.

Thats funny, I also found out the hard way.......I had turned up the stereo with Joe Bonamassa playing real LOUD. I think it was ''I just got paid''.
(see it on you tube with other songs) and it reset...
