Default Squeaky Coilovers

My '03 Z has Pfadt coil overs I just recently purchased the car, but it's been in the shop getting tuned to pass emissions. I picked up the car yesterday and finally got to put some miles on it. I noticed what appears to be the suspension making some very loud squeaking. Sounds just like a bed spring.

Is this normal for coil overs ?

It's more likely to be the sway bar bushings squeaking than the coilovers.

If you verify that it's not the sway bars squeaking check the thrust washers on top of the coil over's springs for cracks, breaks, and lack of lube.

I have the Pfadt coil overs on my Z06. If you know the corner squeaking look to see if the spring is rubbing the shock shaft. You will see scraped metal along the area of contact. The spring sits in a metal receiver at its bottom and can get offset. The simple fix is a light tap with a hammer to move the spring away from the rub site. You will hear the spring click back into place. Simple fix.
