So I have a new lid and hinge but I can't figure out how to get the current hinge off to add the replacement. Here are some pics of what in talking about:

I can't see the pics, but, you can go to several of the vendors here and buy a new lid that probably has the hinge attached. Ask, before you buy.

You can click them now. My problem is that I dont know how to remove the pins. Im assuming you need to remove the entire center console?

Pics are now clickable. The lid I have came with the hinge. My question was how to get the hinge off, since there are what appear to be pins that hold it in place in the console - not screws.

You have the only hinge I have ever seen with rivets instead of screws. Out of curiosity, what year is your car? '97? '98?

If I were you, I would replace the lower console section, with one that has screws like the majority of C5s. That particular console section is easy to find and not terribly expensive. Call Marc at Vettenuts for some good, clean used pieces. 1-615-896-6100. You can also shop on that big auction site too.

It's a 2000. There are screws to remove the lid itself, and the replacement lid I purchased also had rivets instead of screws. I replaced the lid because my old one was torn but the hinge is still broken obviously.

OK, my bad. Upon further review (as the NFL refs say ), those are actually studs not rivets. There are nuts on the underside, but you need to remove the lower console section to access them.

I found a good hinge on ebay for $30.00. Item # 111499905802

Thanks. I actually have a new hinge, and as the car is for sale I'll just give it to the new owner and tell them to have fun
