Default Power Antenna

Just bought a sweet 01 RED Convertible with a 6 speed....NICE!!! New to the forum....had an 73 and 94 prior to this baby. Winter set in right after I got it and have not even driven it except off the truck to under it's blanket in the heated garage!!!!!

HELP!....I removed the power antenna and did not pay attention to which way the "teeth" were on the nylon cord when I removed it. Got the new one in and ready to install....not sure how to orient.

Thanks for posting this, it helped me as well. My antenna is stuck in the up position. I just ordered a new one for $20.00 shipped. I think the pic in the link will help you.

In the exploded picture of the wrench removing the special nut, there is a socket tool being used. I know I have 2 different types to install and remove my Mopar antennas from the 60's.

Does your replacement mast come with this tool? The FSM does not identify a GM tool number but just says it comes with the mast.

you may have to rotate the new mast a little for the teeth to grab while you have someone cycle the radio on and off.

Here is where I ordered from. It was $20 Canadian delivered. I haven't received it yet so can't comment on the quality or install just yet
