Default Headlight issue on a 2002 C5

Guys.. is it normal for the headlights to open up when the light switch is turned to the "parking light mode? I'd like to run it with the parking lights and fog lamps on but headlights down... is there a way around this or is my car broke?

Ok guys.... When the car is in TWILIGHT mode I have control of the Fog lights and all lights are on. (light switch in the off position)

When the car is taken off the TWILIGHT function.

Light switch turned to parking lights" the headlight open but are not on, cannot turn on the fog lamps. No rear tail lights, but blinkers work.

Light switch turned to "lights on" the headlight turns on, cannot turn on the fog lamps. No rear tail lights, but blinkers work.

Need some help C5 masters!

Thanks Guys!

It appears you may have an issue with the Multifunction Switch as my first thought.

Seems like when the MF switch is OFF and TS is ON things work correctly.

If not the MF switch it should require more than one thing to cause what you are seeing.

If you want to pull it here is a link that might help in examining it.

Here is a link on how to remove it.

Let me know if I can help further. If you pull it and want to do continuity checks on the internals I can provide the pin outs to do that.

If you need any help it would be best to PM me with your number so we can discuss on the phone. Trying to get into details of diagnostics is much better that way.

Keep us updated.

Thanks for the help Mr Sam! Got the oil pressure sending unit replaced! Did NOT remove the intake! Lost a few layers of skin getting back there but that's fixed. Replacing the Multi Function switch next and hope it fixes the light problem i'm having. Thanks for the info and tutorial!

I told you could do it when I heard all the other more difficult things you have done. I had confidence. Call me anytime.

Do you have HIDs installed on low beam and Fog's?
I had the 35 W HIDs on mine and sometimes when I switched on park lights with Fogs already on, the headlight buckets would pop up. Turn off the parks, then turned off fogs.Turned park lamps back on the buckets stayed down now turn on fog lamp switch.
Have since changed to 55w HID's in Bi Xenon projectors and no more problems.
