Where is the oil dripping from?
I looked under the car and I know it is not the oil drainage plug because I just bought a new one and tightened it appropratly. But is this a clue of maybe the front main seal and not the rear seal because in the area around the plug is all wet and a bead of oil is on the drain plug.
I am just trying to figure out while the car is driven and the wind blowing under the car if it is seeping from the front main under the crank, would it run off and splatter toward the rear and end up by the oil drainage plug. Need thoughts thanks.

oil leak
When I purchased my 2001 the PO had just replaced the front crankshaft seal. He had not cleaned the oil accumulation from that leak and it did exactly as your are describing on your car when my car was driven. I cleaned up the oil accumulation and the oil drips in that area went away.

Had a similar oil leak issue near pan, mechanic pulled his hair out trying to figure out. Upon further investigation, turned out to be a bad oil filter, it had a leak in the metal seam on the base. Had to run the motor to identify. Replaced filter, dry as a bone now. Good luck.

I changed out my harmonic balancer (and the timing chain, while I was that far into it) two years ago. This past fall, while changing the oil for the winter hibernation, I noticed my oil pan was all wet with engine oil.
I hope it's not the crank seal, because I really don't want to have to tear it all down again!!! I wouldn't be all that bad, if you didn't have to pull out the steering rack, because after that, you usually have to get the front end checked, because the toe-in usually shifts a bit.....

I have heard of people who do not correctly center the crank seal and have resultant leaks. If you have that issue I suggest you use an alignment tool next time.
Good luck with it.
