Default OEM rocker compatability between 243 vs 317

Does anyone know if factory LS1/6 rockers will work on 317 heads?

I just bought a trunion kit for my rockers but now i'm thinking i want to run 317 heads for my SC build. The 317 heads don't have rockers with them.

Will my rockers work or am I stuck having to buy truck rockers that were meant for the 317 heads?

Thanks.

As far as I know yes. It is my understanding that 317s are the same as the 243/799 but with a different chamber and lower CR.

pretty sure they are all the same unless they are offset like the intake rockers on ls3/7/9's... is there a reason you want to use the 317 over the 243 besides the drop in compression?

I don't have either head right now, but to use the 317's i can get a set dirt cheap and to be able to run more boost is appealing.

you can still run some boost on 243's... if you have a cam that might bleed off some of the compression anyway and you could use meth as a safety measure or to make even more power

Yea I plan on going straight to a 3.4 pulley and running E85. No cam till I have to rebuild the bottom. Which could be yrs or on the dyno! lol...

stock block?... what other mods do you have?... I saw 12psi on my stock block and after I get done with a few more mods should see about 15psi... make sure you have a good tuner and that makes a lot of difference in how long it can live afterwards

yep stock LS1. Just LT's and a LS6 mani for mods besides the valvetrain parts i'll be adding to the 317s. Plan is to redo the stock fuel system with E85 components and then run a UPP secondary fuel system on boost.

Yea, I have a few options as far as tuners go in my neck of the woods.

I'm about the same, only other mod is a cam and meth but running e85 will have the same type of effect... you should have a pretty stout little setup
