can I rebuild the headlight motor? where do I get brushes?
My headlight was not working on my 2003. I took it apart and took the gear off and the motor still didn't work. It would move a little and get bound. I took it apart and want to try and rebuild it. Has anybody done this? Do they make a kit? I didn't find a lot with a google search.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Google "small electric motor parts" and knock yourself out. One outfit, "EIS" seems to be pretty comprehensive. Same for Eurton Electric.

I took both apart, cleaned them and reassembled them with new Mobil 1 grease (shown in the aluminum foil cup). The brushes were good, the commutators were cleaned up with fine sandpaper and Simichrome polish on a lathe but a drill press or hand drill would also work. Most of the photos were lost but this one shows all the parts; the motor end caps and bodies were marked before taking them apart so they would go back together right.
