Good Road Race Alignment Specs?
I'll be road racing my '01 Z06 for the first time at the end of the month. Does anyone have any suggestions on alignment specs and a starting tire pressure? I'll be running the stock Z06 tire/wheel combo. Thanks in advance.

Re: Good Road Race Alignment Specs? (RennfahrerX)
Most people simply add more negative camber and bump the pressures up.
This forum has a road racing section where you would probably get more knowledgeable help, but I will try anyways.
If you will be driving your car on the road and don't want it to wander over ruts, joints, bumps etc. then you shouldn't get too crazy with your camber and toe settings.
If you keep everything stock aim for 34-36 psi front and 32-34 psi rear (cold).
These are generic ballpark figures that most people agree on.
If you don't care about road manners you can run quite a bit of negative camber and zero toe. ( F camber -2.0, R camber -1.3 are my current settings). I believe Dave Farmer (Speed World Challenge racer) runs something like -3 camber all around.
If you get hooked (you will) get some books on the subject and they will explain the why's and how to's of suspension and tire setup.

Re: Good Road Race Alignment Specs? (MJM)
Our base line starts at: *Front toe= 1/8"out-1/32"in *Front camber= 1/2 degree negative *Front caster= 4-6 degrees pos *Rear toe= 1/8" in *Rear camber= 3/4-1 1/2 degree neg. For starters I would use 1/16" out toe in the front and 1/2 degree neg camber and 5.25 degrees positive caster. In the rear I would start with 1/4" toe in and 1 degree of negative camber.

Rennfahrerx, I would not run your tires higher than the stock pressure setting. On the track tires get very hot and the tire pressure (hot) goes up much higher than you would see on the street or auto-x (with the same starting cold setting). I run between 2 to 2 and 1/2 lbs under the stock pressures. Anything higher and the car wants to slide a lot. Also, I have seen newbies chunk their tire treads due to too high of pressure.

We're gonna change it soon. You go to Shop Online and Shop Now at the bottom of the screen. On the next page go to the top and click on page #6 in the catalog. It may be hard to read depending on what size monitor you have. You can call our Tech line for that info also 727-345-5292.
