Default 500 rwhp build up options?

Guys I have a 2000 A4 and Im wanting to hear from some of you that have been tried and true 500 rwhp build ups and want to hear proven combinations of how to get there. My car is stock except for headers, x- pipe and CAI. Ive got 5-7 grand to play with. Please any facts that are important to the build such as fuel system upgrades, etc. BTW only normally aspirated builds. Thanks guys.

Through an A4 with a 346...probably gonna need a forgiving dyno with your budget.

Mamo ported FAST 102/102TB
Mamo 220's
Custom grind cam in the hood of 23x/24x .6xx .6xx w/ stout valvetrain(light valves, short travel lifters, 11/32 pushrods) as its gonna need to rev. Probably have to flycut.
EWP
10-25% UDP
Good intake
Good exhaust
36/42lb injectors with a 255lph fuel pump will be plenty.

Would be a start and I would still bet against you to see 500rwhp through an A4. Through an M6/M12 it'd probably be pretty damn close. 500rwhp through a manual is in the details...and those aren't free

Get the best heads you can...with a garbage cam and great heads you can still make good power. Don't work the other way around

Do yourself a huge favor, just go forced induction. You're not going to get anywhere near 500rwhp on an A4 with a 5-7K budget.
Either that, or lower your expectations/goals.

Take dlberman's advice. I just had a 418ci dyno less than 500 yesterday. It was a budget but still a little disappointed. Tq is insane though through the whole band. Making a minor adjustment next week and see if it helps. But this is not about me. Yes just go FI. You will not be close enough through an A4 N/A with 6-7g's.

I'm probably one of the closest around but have no dyno numbers, my N/A 346 stock bottom will run low ten second 1/4 miles and is fun as hell on the street as a daily driver, whenever the urge hits. The money in head work alone can get quite expensive.

Tommy at Anger Management built mine. He has the recipe but it's going to cost you in drivetrain either way you go, if you want to actually use some of the power. Don't forget about a good set of tires to hold the power....

Best of luck with your goal

I noticed you plan to do 4:10's, it may be too much gear (way too much) with that pwr level. I'm running 3:73's and cross a but over 130 mph. Don't think 4:10's would be your best choice.

Stop by the performance section and ask all you want you may get better life experiences with your goal

I'm with the guys above that say "stick a blower and some sticky tires on it".

You may not hit 500whp, but I'd bet you'd be close enough and having a blast until your tranny or dif blows up. At that point you can invest in some upgraded drivetrain parts, etc needed to obtain your long term goals. If you're looking for something to street around only, and show off to your friends, a simple A&A or ECS entry level set up will serve you well.

Oh, BTW, you will need a good exhaust so she can breath as well as the Vortech/Procharger.

Best of luck, please post you decision and results when and if you go for it!

Peace!

Ragin Racin is about an hour way from where I live. Ive spoke with Randy about a Vortech but Ive seen a few motor builds that sound pretty good and wanted to see what every ones thoughts were on the matter. Thanks for your input.

My stroked/forged LS6 (382 ci) from an idle last fall. My two are currently .03 sec difference ... this fall may be when one (or both) of them shines :-)

This car has gone 9.5X with a 100 shot. They are both setup for NANO nitrous. recently installed Holley V-2 to control the air/fuel ...

Both built as 10.50 index cars and daily drivers.
