Default Loud humming noise from inside the car on drivers side...

1997 c5.

I'm thinking it's the fuel pump...common to have an extremely loud fuel pump?
If not..easy fix?
Thanks.

The humming will stop if you take the time to learn the lyrics

Have you thought about maybe trying to listen to the sound from outside the car. Like maybe from under the car near the left side fuel tank where the electric pump is?

Probably fuel pump, when I first turn switch on but not start I can hear mine come on but then noise goes away after I start the car or at least I can't hear it. Does your noise go away or is it constant? I love the commedians on here, boy what a asset when U need good advice. GEEZ

Pour a bottle of tetron n the tank, i just read on another vette site where this helped a guy with a noisy pump and faulty gauge. He added it on two occasions, worked for him. Try it nothing to loose. Get it at advance, oriley, walmart, black bottle. Put n a bottle and fill the tank, as u know the vette has two tanks. Good luck

Definitely fuel pump...and it's normal. I had a buddy with a 97, and we both couldn't believe how loud the fuel pump was.

Cool, u may have to try 2-3 bottles, good idea to use it every 2-3 tanks to keep the fuel gauge working properly. Keep us posted

IMHO ethanol fuel may be the culprit for some of the gas tank related issues as well as evap issues... I know our Super Charged FJ Cruiser doesn't like it and neither does my Turbo 87 4runnner. The engine light on the FJ comes on every time we get 91 ethanol fuel... if we can't get or don't get NON ethanol... shortly after we put NON ethanol in it the lights go away...that has been happening since 2007 when we bought it brand new. I did have to replace the gas cap once.
