Default How old is my battery?

I just bought a 2005 and getting ready to go on Hot Rod Power Tour and don't want any problems. I looked at the AC Delco battery and the date code is S104P. Now I know that is was made in Oct but is it 2004 or 2014? The battery looks new with a little dust on it but so does the rest of the car.

You said your car is a 2005= C6... this is the C5 Tech section. Batteries can "look new" and still be bad... it can be an old battery and still be good... Check the voltage and alternator output and keep the battery on a tender. If, it's a concern on being outdated... get a new one.

1.1 First generation-C1 (1953–1962)
1.2 Second generation-C2 (1963–1967)
1.3 Third generation-C3 (1968–1982)
1.4 Fourth generation-C4 (1984–1996)
1.5 Fifth generation-C5 (1997–2004)
1.6 Sixth generation-C6 (2005–2013)
1.7 Seventh generation-C7 (2014–)

Most likely October 2014
How do I read the warranty date code on my battery?
The warranty date code is located on the top label of the battery. The first character is
either a P or S. The next two digits determine the month, the third digit is year and the
fourth digit indicates the manufacturing plant. For example, P 098N means the battery
was made in September 2008
