nevermind I got it. I needed to take out the shifter assemble thats bolted down on the TT

Glad you got it... wish you had taken more pics and posted procedure it took to get it separated... I've been researching for about 30 minutes to try and help... it is one that there isn't readily available concise info on.
I was just going to suggest more beer and more cursing....

not much else to take pics of that he hasn't already... besides the trans to torque tube bolts there is just one torx bolt that holds the shift rod to the shifter box that needs to come out and it will come right apart

^ That's what I didn't know lol I had to ask a few people. First response was "kind of obvious" and once I read that part I knew I fuged up..I thought the shifter shaft(is that a word?) that is by the torque tube that goes to the tranny would come out that end when I loosed all those bolts. lol I'm an idiot. I was pulling and twisting then after 30 mins of struggling that's when I sent a text out and got the " kind of obvious response" 2 sec later..It's slides out..haha I'm not so bright sometimes. It's a miracle this car has ran this long
