Help! Weird Headlight Cover Issue
Looking for some feedback, I've read a bunch of other threads on the subject but non pertain to what I'm dealing with. The driver's side cover is like 1/4" higher than the bumper. I took out the white bumpers and in the one photo and you can see the opposite corner is below the bumper. Just looking to see if anybody has dealt with this or has ideas about what's going on. Thanks.
It looks like the corner of the headlight is contacting the cover and not allowing it down further.

I tried to readjust the entire assembly but it doesn't seem like there is much room to adjust. Cover still sits about a little less than .5" above the front fascia and fender on the right side.

I played with this a bit more and removed/raised/lowered the white bumpers the cover rests on and dropped it more but it still looks like it's a couple 16ths high yet it's not quite flush.

Haha yeah sorry about that. So a few months ago I was getting my headlights aimed and on that assembly there is a screw and plastic nut that passes through a metal plate the headlight is fastened to. You turn the 'golden rod' to adjust the plate and headlight up and down.
Well the black plastic nut on mine was damaged and spinning in place and therefore I could complete aiming so what I did was I put a little JB Weld around the nut to keep it from spinning. Well I put way too much in and it set a little to close to where the headlight sits on this plate and it raised the headlight up a bit. This added height is what was causing my headlight and the door cover to touch and prevent it from sitting flush with the bumper and fender.
Definitely one of those you gotta be kidding me moments. So I removed some of the JB Weld and now everything went back together nicely.

Just an update on the solution I wrote about which was contributing to the problem but the cover was still ever so slightly raised and was still bugging me that it wasn't flush like any other C5 around. Turns out the white cap screw on the headlight vertical adjuster where the golden rod extends from was too high. I could see that it was actually contacting the wall and thus the headlight wouldn't completely drop down. So I got in underneath, couple turns with a ratchet and everything lines up perfectly.
One of those stupid mind numbing issues that ends up being the simplest thing.
Take care all.
