Inside air temp sensor open - Code B0338 HC
I pulled the codes today and code B0338 HC displayed. Code will not reset. The code is for "inside air temp sensor open". Searched and found this link: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...uto-targa.html
One of the posts states:
"the cabin temperature sensor is located inside the little plastic pop out tab that is on your driver side dash - right next to the ignition switch. It is very easy to access.
Sensor open usually means 1 of 2 things.....1) the sensor has failed....or 2) the wiring to the sensor itself has been damaged or has come loose."
Can someone show me a picture of the tab, where it is exactly and how to open it so I can check it.
Thanks.

Take a small flat bladed screw driver and slip it in on one side and pop it out
it's right beside the ignition switch...

Here is the answer to my original post. I took my time to fix it because the AC seemed to be working ok.
Had to take my car to Rick at RKT Performance for a few minor problems. I asked him to check the code. Turned out the sensor was defective. That part is no longer made by GM. That's really incredible. Rick called around and found out that AC Delco makes a comparable part. There was one left in a parts dept not far from the shop so he had the part delivered the same day. The part works perfectly and no more codes.

Yes, the AC Delco number is what you should be sharing. I used the term GM since they are owned by GM. Whenever they use an AC Delco part they show the GM number and the AC Delco number in their parts book.
My GM parts book shows the AC Delco part number as 15-72496.
If that is the number your guy Rick used then it is not a comparable part, it is the original OEM part.
