Acceleration hesitation???
Hello all!
This is my first time posting here. I recently purchased a 2000 C5 with 74k. Within the first couple of days I started having issues... most of which I have fixed/figured out. This one has me scratching my head tho. Under heavy acceleration, I notice a slight hesitation in the 3000 to 3500 rpm range. I've ran fuel injector/fuel system cleaner and I've had the car checked out by Chevy. of course nothing found. I did however notice that if I turn off traction control the hesitation pretty much goes away for the most part. I know that the traction control with limit my power if it senses wheel spin... in which should be displayed on the info screen. But it doesn't display that when I get that hesitation. Any thoughts??? And thank you!

I found a solution to this problem. I installed a custom intake and brand new MAF sesnsor and the hesitation went away. Something so simple. Gotta love it

What intake and MAF sensor did you use? I have a hesitation put I only notice it when the RPMs are coming back down usually when I am cruising in the 40-50 mph range.

Acceleration hesitation???
Well I had a Eddlebrock filter on it and a Granetelli Mass Air Flow sensor. My car didn't like the setup so I put the stock airbox back on but kept the Granetelli MAF and it still runs like a champ. So there was my problem the whole time. The damn MAF sensor. Hopefully that's all you need for your problem. I've spent hundreds on things that I thought was causing it and it continued. I should have thought of the MAF first and I would probably have saved alot of money but I got new parts anyways. Lol

Go to any race shop and they will have a full garbage can full of aftermarket MAF's
My assumption is that your car is stock cammed---- There is NO reason to change the MAF from stock as it is good to 500 HP---You may say your car is running great but since you never drove it with a stock MAF I believe you are leaving 10-20 RWHP on the table-
An aftermarket MAF can be made to work but you must have full tuning software in order to correct all the errors it produces---Typically they make the WOT fuel very rich---
A scanner or data logger will tell you what's going on--If your are serious about more HP then I would absolutely delve into some research---If you are fine with the way it is--then so be it--

Well I did drive the car with the stock MAF sensor and that was when I was getting my hesitation. Since I put this new one in I've had no hesitation at all
