Also why do you suppose RPM says not to dyno the car as it can hurt the transmission? I don't see how dynoing it is worse then running it down the track.. Apparently it's hard on the 3/4 clutches as well... I really want to dyno my new combo but I don't want to hurt the trans.
There's only 1 band, (upgraded wide band) and if there's plenty of meat I will leave it. Mine looked fine the last time thru it. If the other clutches look good I will leave them too, the only problem I need to fix is the missing 3/4.

Another part we upgraded last time was to replace the Corvette servo with this. Also part of the Level X package.

Sonnax 2nd Gear Super Hold Servo Kit
Part No. 77911-03K
Dual seals on the 2nd gear piston and separator ensure positive band apply/release and eliminate cross leaks, which contribute to 2-4 band and 3-4 clutch failure.

It's not a bad DIY. You just need some diagrams to ensure you put the valve body bolts and check ***** in right. I got the diagrams with my last rebuild, normally part of the instructions for a shift kit.

I can't speak to the dyno warning or WOT OD. I've done both in this build and never hurt anything. I have heard that after a dyno pull it's a bad idea to go into neutral, and just let the engine decel in gear.

All in all what do you think the rebuild will cost you?

$350 to freshen up with an overhaul kit and new clutches.
$450 for the Sonnax drum
There will be minor labor to have my input shaft pressed into the new drum.

Might the symptoms of this clutch pack failure be the car refusing to shift into 3rd gear?
If so I think I know what's wrong with mine.
