Default Wide body install thread? Any tips?

Looking in the shop manual, it says to cut the rear quarter out leaving a piece right were the quarter goes under the roof pillar. I looked close down in the gap and I see a few body screws in there between top and quarter panel.

I've read that some were glued?

If anyone has a link to good install thread or any tips to the install I'd appreciate it.

Tried the search and most of it is C6 stuff or for sale.

Thanks guys

Only the Z06 is glued at the top. Take off the fender liner, outer rear tail light, open the hatch. Remove fasteners that are located behind the light, under the liner, in the door, and along the hatch. For the drivers side there are some under the gas cap.

If you have a Z06, you might break the fender trying to get it off. If your lucky, nothing will happen, but it is glued on there.

I just got done mocking up the passenger side Corvette Creations fenders last weekend, now I have to do the drivers side. Lots of grinding. I dont have a Z06 so mine was painless.

Just had mine done. He worked the fenders up and down and wiggled them out from under the bolts/screws. He said it was a pain, but nothing was broken. Lines needed working, but turned out great.

Here are a couple of my L5's. Do a search for "wide fenders only pics" there are some great examples of the different options.

They are not glued. just keep working them, and they will come off.

The fenders were not glued on my 99 FRC. The screw locations on the top are slotted so you can slide the fender out from underneath the screws you can't reach. They will come off intact.

Do the screws need to be loosened?

Just lift up and away from car?

Thanks

You cannot (or we could not) get to them to loosen them. We did loosen just a very little bit to push new ones on.
