How bad is this lifter,
I was planning on just replacing my lifters because I had a few collapse from an oil issue, I don't think the cam looks too bad.

If I was that far into the engine and there was ANY doubt, I would change ALL the lifters. I would also look at the cam very closley to see why the lifter was marked in that way. There must be a reason for the mark on the lifter... Once again, if there is any doubt about the cam I would replace it also. You stated "about an oil issue" . I would also determine what that oil issue is and repair it as well... Good luck with the repair!

Its very difficult to see the cam lobe in that picture but I agree. Something caused that scar. What was it? How deep is it? Is it also scarred on the CAM LOBE?
If the cam and or the lifter is damaged, it may go SOUTH in a hurry and damage other things.

looks like the cam is scored too... I would replace all the lifters/trays, new cam/timing chain/oil pump, rocker arm trunion upgrade, clean all the carbon off of your pistons, and replace the graphite headgaskets with mls gaskets... if you go with an aftermarket cam then I would also replace the springs/seals/pushrods
