Product Release: aFe POWER PFADT Series Tri-Y Headers/X-pipe for 97-04 Corvette C5
aFe POWER is proud to release the PFADT STREET AND RACE SERIES HEADERS for your C5 Corvette, with the 5.7L LS1 engine. These headers were previously available through PFADT Race Engineering, and the PFADT Series of products have been incorporated into aFe POWER, but the design has been improved further by aFe POWER engineers.
These headers utilize a Tri-Y design in 1-7/8” design, which equalize pressures thru each cylinder, increasing scavenging and creating a balanced increase in horsepower and torque throughout the RPM band.
Quick Data Points:
• Headers designed to fit the 1997-2004 Corvette with the V8 5.7L LS1
• Tri-Y design combined with 4-2-1 merge collector provides best balanced power throughout the RPM range.
• 1-7/8” 16-Gauge Stainless Steel to provide maximum protection against corrosion.
• Header and X-pipe combo provides a hassle free install, and can be used with stock exhaust system when used together.
• We use V-band flanges, which provide a superior seal that requires no maintenance or need for adjustment over time.
• 100% TIG welded for superior strength and durability.
• Available with cats or cat-less applications.
• Proudly engineered, and built in the US.
Countless time in R&D was taken when choosing the length and diameter for the primary tubes. If they are designed too small you will run the risk of losing power, and the engine ends up working harder to expel the exhaust gases from the combustion chamber to compensate. Too big will cause exhaust gases to expand and decrease velocity, thus decreasing the scavenging effect required to produce more power. So it is a fine balance that is required when designing headers for a specific platform, to assure gains and make a worthwhile investment.
We use the Tri-Y design combined with our exclusive 4-2-1 merge collector, providing the best balanced power you can possibly get for your C5 Corvette. You may ask yourself, what does the Tri-Y design do differently to achieve these gains compared to other header designs? We have paired each length of opposite firing cylinders, which are tuned specifically from the primary lengths to provide maximum scavenging effect.
Much attention was taken when choosing the length, and diameter for the primary tubes. If they are too small you run the risk of losing power, thus working the engine harder to expel the exhaust gases from the combustion chamber. Too big will cause exhaust gases to expand and decrease velocity, thus decreasing the scavenging effect required to produce power.
Laser cut with precision, our flanges provide the ultimate sealing strength at head surface. Made of top quality 304 Polished Stainless Steel, to maintain the hi lustrous finish and resist corrosion so your headers stay looking sharp, as well as making the merge collectors look nicer for a cleaner finish.
We 100% TIG weld our headers, by the best in the business who constantly have done this their whole lives. NASCAR uses TIG welding for 95% of their cars for light, but reliable strength that is race proven. Best of all, this quality is proudly engineered and crafted at our Corona, CA facility in the US.
Our V-band clamps and machined flanges provide the ultimate seal between your headers and X-pipe. There is no need to check back in a few weeks, or constantly having to adjust your headers for movement or leaks every few months. Once they’re on, no adjustment is required for a true bolt-on design that is easy to install.

So you mean they actually fit the C5 this time? I was one of the original buyers of these headers...not very happy w how things turned out. Fitment was terrible and I was left hanging by Pfadt

I was thinking the same thing. Have all the fitment issues been addressed? It seemed Pfadt was doing OK until the release of their Corvette long tube headers and all the fitment issues they had.
