Default Conv rear deck lid
When I open mine it hardly opens and almost pull my finger nails out trying to open it.

1. Is it the gas pistons that are bad?

2. Is it adjustable to open more?

Replace the struts. They are made by a company named "StrongArm". Google StrongArm and you should be set. Takes about 3 minutes to install.

In the interim, you can pop the trunk and then close a door and it will force it up.

Another option (and much cheaper) is to install a spring at the trunk lid latch. Google C5 corvette trunk spring and you will find vendors that sell the spring and DIY ways to make your own.

Mine did the same thing-a little WD 40 on all the hinge points fixed it.

I replaced the struts on the frc and it didnt do dick.. May some wd will help

Oh I replaced the conv hatch and trunk open like it should now. And the conv hatch actually stays open for me to put the top in. No more hold the lid with my shoulder
