OEM C5 / C6 shifter
Can someone help me identify these shifters? If I remember correctly, the straight shaft shifter (with threads) is for a C5 manual (yes/no?). If so, what is the application for the bent-shaft shifter (without threads)?

The C6 shifter is a great upgrade.. while your at it you might do some other things that will help with the shifting experience...
1 Anti-Venom Mod
2 Amsoil Torque Drive fluid in the tranny
3 Ranger Method and change to Lucas DOT 4 synthetic fluid
4 Vent the plastic dust covers on the bell housing...
When you put in the C6 shifter make sure to take it apart as far as you can, clean and lube it... make sure all the seals are good to keep it working nice and smooth.

NOTE! The C5 shift handle/****,, will not attach to the C6 shifter. You will need a C6 ****.
Something else to examine are the TWO rubber bushing under the two bolts that secure the box to the TT. They ROT and make the connection of the box to TT sloppy. You can get nylon replacement ones from ZIP Products or use a washer and SOLID MOUNT the box to the tube. The C5 ZO6 cars had solid mounted boxes to the TT:
