getting a hard shift from 1st to 2nd
I have an 01 automatic getting a hard shift when I take off and the car shifts from first to second but after that the car shifts smoothly. Anyone familiar with those symptoms.

That's the way mine acts. Maybe it is normal. I take it real easy and it almost squeels the tires. Downshifts perfect. After warm up it gets better

try disconnecting the batt then re-connect ???
