Default when do you change your oil

In all my cars, I change the oil @ 5k miles, except a Honda that had an oil reminder. I did it at 11,000 which was about 5 months of highway driving.

The Vert has over 5k on it now, and it says its at 46%. I've had it 3 months just about to the day.

Do you follow the DIC or do you change it at your own schedule?

Once a year or whenever the DIC indicates, whichever is less.

Just had my 04 vert done today with 3300 miles and 12 months since last change. By the way, first time car has been driven in the rain. Never knew if the wipers worked until today. Also, the headlights flipped and worked. Amazing car!

I change mine at 10k miles or if the oil life monitor were to indicate. Whichever is sooner. I also change it before storing it for the winter. That translates to 2 - 3 changes per year for me.

Right when the car comes out of winter storage. I only drive 2-3k miles a year, so that's it.

I change it just before winter storage or when the DIC tells me to, whichever is first. I drive around 5-6K a year with it.

These days, since it's not my commuter car anymore, it gets done once a year, whether it needs it or not - per the manual. DIC usually reads about 50%.

The last oil change back in July, the oil life meter was down to 15%. It had been around 4k miles since I last changed it in March. The oil looked used but not used up.

I read the 2001-2004 C5 oil life algorithm got updated to last 33% longer. The DIC is programmed very conservatively on the 97-00 models. So I plan to let it go all the way to 0% next time. I think that still leaves a good margin of error. And will translate to about 5k miles since the last change.

I usually drive the car 2-3K miles a year and change the oil just as I put it in storage for the winter. I do not want the old oil sitting in the car over the winter months.

Drive it on weekends. Less than 5K a year - change once a year.

Oil life monitor unless it's been a year since the last one. I average about 5K miles a year so it's usually the latter.

I change the oil in the vert every year. Mileage varies from 1,000 to 3,000 miles.
