I have a 2004 M6 LS1 - getting ready to change the thermostat.

My question: Is there a gasket for the thermostat housing cover or does the joint strictly rely on the rubber ring on the edge of the thermostat to seal?

I want to make sure I have all lot the parts before I break into the pressure boundary.
