Default Varram intake questions

Ok, my car came with a new(looks like its never been put on anything) varram intake in a box. Well its missing the peices that go to the fog lights. Why?! i have no clue... has anyone ran across this and modded their factory bezel to work? or are they to short from the get go?? i really dont want to buy the new lower part, if i can mod my fog light bezel and make it work.

There are two pieces - one going to each foglight/intake duct - that replace the original foglight black bezel. These two pieces on the top end form the lower half of the filter housing and holds the filter element. Not sure how you would be able to recreate the entire structure to latch onto the upper portion of the filter housing without significant time spent under the car and a lot of trial and error. I'd call Vararam and see what kind of deal you could get for the two lower pieces.

Good luck.

Those are the pieces im missing... why they are not there beats me. But i called varam and i have to buy the whole bottom intake to get those. They don't sell them separate.

Yes, you can make those from the pieces on your car. I'd bet money those 2 pieces are factory pieces they just modify for use with their ducts. Basically, cut the back off so they are open and then install the ducts up to them. Yo don't need to fasten them together but a couple of rivets or bolts would work.

OK - thought you were talking all the way up to the filter box. I have a set of old foglight bezels you could try to modify. PM me if interested.

Here is mine.
They appear to be factory pieces modded.
Hope the pics help you out.

They are only held in by 3 rivets on the top side. The rest is not attached at all.

Let me know if you need more pics

They don't fit much better than that from the factory.

Agree - think Vararam took the cheating route by not having them bolt in. Looks great!

Yeah, my Vararam really doesn't fit as good as I would like. You might want to mock it up before drilling anything and riveting. Something with the angle the duct makes as it transitions to the inlets.

Before you mount that up, take another look at mine.

Your's might work...

It looks to me like you are 1.5" out, when you want to be in.

Notice how the tunnel part is inside the fog light bezel.

This cut out tab is kind of like a stop for vararam at the back of the fog light bezel.

Your's looks like it is 1-1.5" out from where it needs to be

This is how they are cut

Around 2 3/4" from the front here, this is the top

It looks like 2 1/8" from the front here. this is the bottom

since you have it off the car and are modding it to fit you might spend a little more time to seal the perimeter of the bezels to the intake tubes... air will take the path of least resistance and having open holes all around the bezels will allow the air to escape rather than going into the intake tubes where it should be going
