When you say it's hard to get into first... are you talking about sitting still after backing out of the garage? Coming to a stop light or stop sign? Going around a corner and just shifting down?

Could be synchro... I have read where others having this issue put in a C6 Z06 shifter and the problem went away... maybe just because when they installed it they adjusted the alignment? Might be worth a try and it's a nice upgrade
