Default Long tubes and Borla track sound limit

Hey guys.
Got a C5 with long tubes and Borla all the way back.
Had a trip to Laguna Seca with friends(didn't drive cuz I knew it's too loud) and people in stock cars were having difficulties meeting the ridiculous 92dB limit.
The car also stinks too much for my taste. So I have 2 questions:
1: Are the titanium z06 mufflers quiet? Do they cost any power?
2: Anyone have cats after their long tubes? I've seen it done but am wondering how effective they are and whether we have room for them?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Just stay off the throttle for 4 seconds by the mic?

Maybe Laguna Seca is fancy, at Road America people with no mufflers just stay off the gas for 3-4 seconds passing the 1 mic and don't have issues. lol

1: depends on mods, very little power loss. To me they sound great with LT's
2: many here do. Should have plenty of room on any headers.

Laguna Seca has it on the uphill section so it would cost a lot of time to let off for a few secs. Some go 50% throttle but my 50% would still be too loud.

Gtanty, I thought about the Z06 mufflers cuz they're cheap and titanium. Was really hoping they'd be quiet.
And awesome. I'll try searching for them.

Sound limits at a race track?

It's Kalifornia, so that sounds about right........

COTA has 103dB, Watkins Glen is 99, Road America has 103 as well to my knowledge.
Most tracks have sound limits...Laguna Seca and Sonoma's are particularly low!
(They do have a limited number of unlimited days for real races)

The Ti's would be much quieter without any loss in power - they flow very well. And you can add high flow cats after LT headers.

Kook's 'GREEN' cats.. best in the business. I dealt with a guy running them on his 800+ hp ZL1. Didn't hurt power or sound at all and it's 49 state legal.

I just added the LG cats to my longtubes. I also run the titanium mufflers. I like that the cats got rid of the smell and also got rid of the rasp my exhaust had. This is the first time I've had cats with a set of longtubes and I really prefer it this way now.

The Ti C5 Z06 mufflers remain very popular. Cheap (cuz used) and Light.

Not sure why as besides being made of Ti they aren't really anything special design-wise or build-quality IMO.
If you actually looked at the internal pictures posted here I can't see how they flow particular well. Yeah you'll get quieter but I just think they're are probably better options out there.

I've also seen posts from those who track them frequently that had reliability issues with them long-term.

I personally am going to stroll over to Borla's nearby office soon and see if they have any #60061 Resonators left, or if I can somehow fit their 3' Bullet mufflers inside the transmission tunnel.
Why...b/c I'm Getting a little tired (old) of Headers and Stingers and Borla Touring's new are over 1k.

It is actually common at HPDE events across the country.

I am in the same boat and curious how loud my new set up will be. I have some Z06 Ti's if it becomes a problem. The Ti's do not cost you much power from most other 2.5" systems. I currently have LG Pro's with cats and a StainlessWorks 3" over axle. You could also do some searches on a more conventional muffler vs the bullet style of the Borla like B&B, Magnaflow, Bassani, Corsa etc.

Ti vs Stingers:

Cats are another way to lower the volume without giving up much power, if you took them off the car. A set of cats for LG Pros were floating for sale on here or ls1tech not long ago.

A friend's before and after cats way back in the day. He was a very solid tuner.

AMP in AZ has a 94db limit -

Two Db readers on opposite sides of the track - Its a BIG deal if you go over as it could lead to heavy fines for the track.

I have kooks long tube - kooks mid pipe with cats and stock Ti mufflers on my 04Z06 -

At WOT it passes the sound check no problem.

Think you can get a dB reading some time?
