howmuch power before a new tranny needed
Have a 99A4 w/ ati sc making 452 rwhp, and want to put some gears and aftermarket TC in. thinking about 3.73's, how likely am I to blow my tranny going to the track 3-4x/ year (10-15 runs each visit) and driving normally on the street?

I was'nt able to make a full pass after my H/C install before the stock tranny ate itself. Do yourself a favor and have them install the tranny while they do your gears etc. Why pay twice????? Call Chuck at FLP for his Level IV......

looks like it (FLP IV's) costs around $2800 installed, there are trans go kits which help with the weakest links. Comments? Seems like the pros say that trannies are a wearable cmpt and when you beat on the car at the track at wot you're going to need to chg trannies. Steve at East Coast Trans in S FL says that they chg the wearable parts in those 7-8 sec cars every season and they're only driven on the track!

I got 2 WOT blast's to about 90 before my a4 died, this was about 500 miles after h/c install, It goes to a local tranny shop tomorrow, they build lots of racing transmissions so hopefully there rebuild will last a while on the street. It's going to run me 2k for r&r/rebuild.
90 Droptop,
Did you get your FLP installed yet? How is it working out for you?
