Default Manual Trans clutch life

Under normal driving around city and highway what is expected clutch life in miles.

If you drive it correctly: no engine braking as you approach stops, not laying on the clutch while waiting for the green light or dumping
the clutch at high RPM's....I'll say it would last about 60K to 80K miles. Oh! one more thing, don't drag the clutch as you leave from a complete
stop. :mad :mad

I spoke to a dealer later today they said average 50,000 miles $1200 to replace.

Mine made it to 55,000, and I've done plenty of burn-outs and power shifting. It wasn't even the clutch disc that needed replacing, it was a problem with the slave cylinder that required a new pressure plate, and the pressure plate comes with a flywheel and friction disc.

The new one seems to grab a little harder than the old one, so maybe it was wearing out. It still held up okay to fast starts, though, and dropping the clutch would light-up the tires, not smoke the clutch.
