Default Don't bend the studs

I took off my mid pipe yesterday to put a retaining clip on my shifter cable. On the front collector stock exhaust manifold all of my studs were bent and one broke while I loosened the nut. I was puzzled on how they got bent. I was able to replace each stud with new ones I found at Orieley's. As I was reinstalling the mid pipe I started to let it hang on the studs while made my way to support the rest of the exhaust. I looked at the studs and noticed they were under stress so I started the bolt in the first crossmember support. This removed any stress from the studs and luckily I did not bend the new studs. Evidently the last time I took the mid pipe off I bent the factory studs by letting the pipe hang from them. Hope this helps anyone else who do not wish to experience bending their studs.
