Strange problem
I was driving back from out of state. After about 200 miles, I pulled into get gas and a subway. When I came out, the car started right up, but would only idle. If I pushed the pedal, it would do nothing or maybe idle a little ruff. It would not speed up. I shut it off and restarted it a couple times and it just would not go above idle.
I backed it in to a parking place and shut it off and ate my sub. When I started it after about ten minutes, all was normal again. I got back on the highway and drove the rest of the way home. (200 miles) I haven't driven it since I got home. (Week) I have another trip coming up next week. Not sure if I should take it. Anybody have this kind of issue.

Well, you're right... Others have had this problem. Unfortunately, there are several things which might cause the issue. That's why you always start with the codes. The codes are a roadmap which leads you to the cause. In this case, in restating what others have mentioned, the codes reported are what 8Vette7 can use to help you determine the cause. Learn to read the codes and know how to do it at any time. It is an invaluable skill on our C5s (C6s and C7s do not have this capability) and can assist on getting help when we need it. We all like to know how to fix our problems quickly and inexpensively. Always start with the codes. GL and keep us informed!!!

Remember, failures don't "fix themselves". If something failed once, chances are high it WILL fail again. Mr. Murphy NEVER takes break and is ALWAYS watching.

I don't understand why people come on here and ask for advice and then ignore it when it is given. It takes only a very few minutes to get the codes off the DIC, it's not complicated or an all day job. You asked that question over a week ago and haven't gotten the codes yet. You would rather drive your car and take a risk of getting stuck somewhere instead of spending 2-3 min. to find out what the problem is? Or when you get stuck again, and you will someday, will you ask for help again?
