After Market Radio Causing Problems.
Hi guys, I'm stumped. 2 years ago I bought a 2003 C5. Love it.
Right away I had a stereo shop near me put in a radio so I can link my phone, Ipod etc. Worked great. About 2 months ago, 2 years after the radio install,
I started getting messages on my dash. Service Active Control system, Shocks not working, do not exceed 80mph, Active handling system not working. I took my Vette to a local shop. after spending $3000. They were unable to fix it. So I took it to the Chevy Dealer. $1000. later they told me it was the radio causing the problem. The after market radio causing the false reading for the cars computer. Anyone out there know where I can plug my radio in as to not interfere with the Vettes computer system? or is the Dealer lying to me?

You should pull the radio and have a look at the job the stereo shop did...I would be surprised if they were related. If they used a bose converter I suppose it could be wired incorrectly, but the fact that it worked for so long almost rules out something miswired.
Drive around with the radio disconnected and see if your problems go away...

Never heard of this before--
Do you have an aftermarket theft or alarm system----Maybe linked to your stereo ? If so this could cause a communication error between your engines computer (ECM) and your accessories computer (BCM) The BCM controls functions with your engine as well-mostly to do with the traction control system ABS braking system--theft system--and the active handling system as well
My experience with aftermarket stereos on a C5------You must delete and NOT USE any of the Bose amps or speakers----I had a killer 100 0watt system on my C5 and I did not use any of the Bose amps ( one under the heater A/C controls to power the rear speakers)
I replaced both Bose amplified speakers with regular 6" speakers---The rear speakers were replaced as well with I think 5 1/2" regular speakers---I installed a sub bod in the rear with a custom 12" sub----I used a 4 channel 1000 watt amp ro run them all
Rewired all the speakers and amp to bypass ALL the Bose wiring
Never had a problem --and it pounded--Hard !!!!
It may be that the alarm is causing a glitch in your BCM---But I doubt it---
You may have an issue separate from the stereo installation---but connected to your ABS system---The stabilitrac system or active handling system codes are quite often connected to wheel speed sensors--as the traction control and active handling control utilizes the ABS system to control wheel speed on a hard stop--hard launch or hard cornering
PS Most code readers cannot identify codes beyond the simplistic ones--However someone with EFILIVE or HP will be able to read codes that other readers won't pick up---This may help you isolate exactly where the fault lies----and I am guessing it is NOT stereo related------
Do you have STOCK sized rear tires ?
Have you changed the rear diff ratio ??
