Default Torque tube runout and wobble

Im doing a clutch right now and noticed some runout and wobble when you spin the torque tube. Does this mean i need new couplers or bearings? Or does the pilot bearing lock it down. Here is a video:

I have not taken mine apart yet but at first guess I'd say that the bearing is worn out. Does it spin smooth or gritty feeling?

Seemed smooth, no grinding. Wasn't sure if the pilot bearing cuts that wobble out. If not i would agree its the bearing

It's just a single roller bearing at the front of the tube which is incapable of holding the shaft straight. The pilot bearing is required to support it.

Now is the time to pull the prop shaft and inspect it. At least visually check the couplers. Otherwise you're going to wonder...

Thats not normal, mine didnt wobble at all, one of the three bearings was bad in mine though, replaced all three with skfs, and put in new dss couplers. I would take off the giant snap ring and pop out the driveshaft and inspect everything.

After I posted I was doing research for my future clutch change and found reference that the wobble is common and not an issue. The post stated that it was due to the rubber couplers. Not sure if that is true but it's what was posted. Those bearings should be relatively cheap from a bearing supply house.

That part at the end where you wiggle it from side to side, is definitely NOT normal. Mine got that way and this is what I found inside. I'm willing to bet the bearings are pretty shot too by the way they spin so freely. When I got new bearings they had alot more drag than that.

Definitely getting some new couplers! Looks like the front coupler was about to explode and the rear was starting to crack. Anyone have any opinions on poly vs gm vs german couplers? This is a street car with no dragging but possibly HDPE events. And I have the 10 mm bolt tube I believe.

For your application, I would get the rear deal OEM GM Replacement Couplings and I would also replace the TT bearings.

I also agree, that front bearing is very worn.

The new pilot should be replaced with a new GM OEM Pilot roller bearing.

Im assuming i should go with the GM OEM:
http://www.chevypartsprime.com/oem/c..._coupling.html

And not this:
http://www.tickperformance.com/torqu...corvette-10mm/

Also the RPM kit is cheaper than the GM OEM, im assuming they use aftermarket couplers. I just dont want to get couplers that break apart after 20K
