Default Vehicle drivability while climate control unit is removed

Has anyone driven their machine while their climate center was removed for repair? I don't feel like re-soldering a bunch of PCB joints, so I'm going to send it to one of the eBay guys... but I was curious if anyone has driven without it installed. I'm sure I'll have to reset some codes afterwards, but how about climate? Are we talking windows down only, or does the system run on the last known setting?

Thanks, Gary! I had already sent it off to the Dash Repair Guy when I read your post.

BTW, as far as drivability goes, there is a key thing here- The secondary fan doesn't run with the AC disabled, so your car will heat up significantly quicker in traffic.

Oh- I'm going to post a review of the whole repair, R+R and results here shortly- The unit arrives today (sent to KY on July 5th- Not bad).
