Default C5 service manuals

I am having trouble finding service manuals for our cars. Do they exist? If so, which one is best and where can I find one? I have seen some people say that they like the gm service manuals, but I cannot find one.

Check eBay for your year factory service manual. They are expensive 2-3 books but worth it and well written.

Are these the ones to which you are referring?

Yes. You can find a better deal on used ones in good shape. I see them on CL a lot too.

The FSM's (Factory Service Manual) will occasionally show up in the C5 Parts For Sale section.

ebay is another good place to find them. Manual sets in good condition will go for real-world prices around $75 to $100. I picked up a '02 set early this year for $85.

I got my set from E-bay. I wanted them real bad and paid $100, still sealed in plastic. They are invaluable. Mike

Helms makes the factory service manuals. They are the best IMO. Post up a wanted to buy (WTB) thread in the C5 Parts for Sale section stating which year you are looking for. The manuals come up for sale every so often and someone may have one for sale for you year car.

Just buy a yearly subscription to AllDataDIY. It's like $27 a year and you get everything the service manuals have, but you can look up on on a computer or phone. You can also print the sections out if you want a paper copy. Literally the best of both worlds.

At $27 a year, you'd have to have it for 8-10 years for the service manuals to come out ahead. Even at that, let's see a service manual hold up after 8-10 years in a garage (they won't).

Every car you add after the first one is cheaper at $17 a year. You can buy a 5 year subscription for a much lower rate as well.
