Thoughts: Replaced rear differential fluid and installed a heads/cam combo BUT..
So, I JUST finished installing a new engine that has a cam in it and it will idle, but BARELY so I definitely need to get a tune....HOWEVER, I also flushed the differential fluid and according to GM, "GM recommends NOT to drive your car at Wide Open Throttle for 300 miles. GM says that it will cause rear end gear noise/whine." I was able to do some doughnuts (not what your thinking just barely going around and went both ways 10 times to spread the fluid around per the instructions...but of course I'll have to put my car on the dyno for tuning....which means WOT runs....sooo any comments or suggestions on what to do? I don't think I can drive the car 300 miles in its current condtion
Thanks for any replies

I don't think that is what the manual says. 300 miles with WOT avoided after fluid change. Talk to your tuner, must have come up before.

Will do Exactly....I figure this has to have happened before and, I haven't found a tuner yet, but whoever I get, I'm sure they'll be good at tuning, but he may not know Vette's THAT in depth. Not many choices of tuners here in Mobile, Al unfortunately

I do not think it is a case of the gears being properly seated, and you are right they should be at this point. This issue seems to be with the "clutches" in the differential being properly lubricated.
Wish I had access to the manuals, I do not at the moment but will look it up later today for a proper explanation.
Again best of luck getting your motor tuned up.

I did the same thing after I did my cam install, changed all fluids, and read the same thing either in owners manual or shop manual. I called my tuner and he said no need to wait for tune, this WAS only meant for new rears or rebuilt with new parts, clutches/gears. So don't worry and get a tune ASAP.
