Default 98 - tcs no comm.

Long story short, a month ago my service abs traction control lights came on... ran diagnostics and tcs no comm. I pop the hood and the connection between the wiring harness and ebcm was smoking. After taking everything apart it appears a loose connection developed with one of the pins and connector creating a short. So, I bit the bullet and bought a used ebcm with low miles and a new connector. I attached all the wires to the new connector and double checked to.ensure they were in the right spot and installed and connected the ebcm. I checked all fuses and grounds as suggested in other posts but after the install I am still getting tcs no comm even after clearing the codes and taking a test drive. Is there anything I'm missing... perhaps something else fried up during the smoking incident?

I appreciate any help or feed back!
