Default Broke EBCM electrical connector

I'm working on trying to fix the EBCM on my '01. I disconnected the large air duct right on top, and the coolant line right under it so I could access it more easily.

When I went to pull out the electrical connector, part of the plastic shell broke.

I guess my question is... do I really care? Is it okay to leave the connector as is, or do I need to fix it by buying a new cable assembly?

Default

It's not interfering with the contact pins so unless you drive in a monsoon I wouldn't worry much about it.

I'd make an effort to protect it from water. Exterior grade duct tape would help. Just had my EBCM out for repair and surprised that some connectors were open in the back, allowing a way for water to enter.
