Ls1 rocker arms and spring upgrade give more hp??
I have a base 01 ls1 vert with a stock motor. before I begin to put LT headers and in a few years a cam, I heard if I swap to a 1.8 rocker ratio that I can free up some HP and TQ, I understand it won't be much but wondering what you suggest.
Why not do the cam swap now?
Well, I rather do simple engine mods before and currently focusing on suspension and brakes. That more important to me.
Ita going to be years I decide to do a cam. So I just want simple bolt ons.
Thanks in advance.

Not worth the money and effort. Just wait until you do your planned engine mods and do a trunion upgrade on your stock rockers. That's what I would do, knowing what I now know.

Yes before I went the new cam route I chose to go with the 1.8 rocker upgrade
It served me very well !!!! I did a dyno run and it showed an 18 RWHP gain !! Not bad at all for the cost and non evasive engine work
Also when you go to a 1.8 with aftermarket rockers you get a more precise rocker action and the lower friction of the roller tips also frees up some HP---You can always sell the 1.8's when and if you go to a new cam--
PS you will need better valve springs with the 1.8's A new set of LS6 springs will work fine and the are cheap---Or you can get the comp 918's for double the cost and then you owon't need new springs when you get the cam
