I bought my car last Dec. with Uniroyal Tiger Paws on it and have not had any problems with them. I don't know how many miles are on them so can't tell you how long they will last. There was 6" of snow on the roads when I bought the car and I don't recommend driving in that much snow. Once I got off the surface roads and onto the freeway that was clear I had no problem with them. It was in the low 30's for the 550 mile drive home.

You might have to get creative with your sizes but I know a version of the Firehawks come in a performance all season and I have a set on another car of mine and it was fine in light snow and great in the summer!

In terms of all season tires, I have Michelin Pilot A/S on the C5 and Conti DWS on the Subaru (Legacy turbo). The Contis I bought new a few years and maybe 20k miles back.

The Michelins have got me and the C5 safely home a number of times in snow (unplanned, snowed while I was out of town). With summer tires - just park it if it snows. And they are great in summer/dry/wet/cold, etc. More grip that it would be sensible to use on the public highway - and seem just as good in dry conditions as the summer Firestones they replaced.

I've found the Contis are really good in all conditions except any depth of snow, where IMO they just don't work well. Kind of a joke really, an AWD car in difficulty in 3-4" of snow......it still has traction, but steering?

Anyway, one way or another, I am not going through another snow season with them. I'll either put proper snows on a spare set of wheels, or swap to Michelins on the Subie as well.

Here it's illegal to have summer tires on in winter. I'd say it's not a bad idea really. I don't drive mine after the roads are below freezing. The UHP summer tires are all but greasy when the road is really cold. Great for water and dry roads, not so good for cold roads and downright dangerous in snow.

I've daily driven a number of cars in winter that came with Z rated tires when new. About 25 years worth for that matter. The stiffer the suspension, the less the A/S tires help.

It goes without saying the taller or softer sidewalls of the A/S tires will be a detriment to dry road handling, but it's that give in the tire that keeps it hooked up under lateral load. the UHP summer tires break loose in a gentle turn so fast it's truly not safe. I recall vividly an episode in my Formula where at 10mph the car would not turn and I was barely able to stop before driving headlong into a curb. The car literally would not turn, and I was on a skiff of snow. I'm talking, road still black with whisps of snow blowing on it.

It depends upon the tire, but I would never ever again drive a car like these on summer tires in winter. Might not handle as well with A/S's, but it will be way less likely to get you killed.

It just means you can't drive like a maniac and not have tire roll, that's all. They work fine, just a much different feel. I'm sure you wouldn't want to autox with em.

but I'd have to go down to 255's on the front, really not a fan of that but seems to be the limitation with 17" rims.
245s are the stock size are they not?

I have been running the Conti DWS tires on my Z for the past two years.
I put the 275's on the front. No issues.

If you take the car into the tire shop, most will refuse to put a size on that isn't spec'ed for the car. I take my wheels off and stick them in the bed of my truck. They mounted and balanced them without a question. It also allowed me to clean the wheels and put them on to my satisfaction.

I bought z06 oem wheels for my 2003 and the only tires I could find were the Goodyears and the Bridgestone (Michelin does not make any for the Z06). These are not A/S. I bought the Bridgestones for about $700/set and I have been very happy with them.

Did you have to do anything to your c5 when you put z06 wheels? I like the polished ones vs the chrome.

Putting Z06 wheels on your C5 does not require any modification.
Same bolt pattern and offsets.
