Key Fob Loses Memory
I have a 2000 Corvette. The key Fob loses it's memory about every 2 days. I've replaced the battery, the range is improved but it keeps losing it's memory. Anybody had this and fixed it?

^^ Agree. I have a 2000 that was having the same issue. I took apart the fobs and touched up the solder points and one of them now works longer than a day. Going to take the other one back apart and see what I missed. Old eyes and small parts and such...

I had the same problem with an early fob and mine was just due to the order-of-operations when reassembling after replacing the battery. On mine I had to assemble it exactly opposite the way I took it apart, making real sure that rubber membrane was kept in perfect alignment as it is supposed to be. If not, when you close the fob it crinkles that rubber and it'll keep your battery from making good contact, as well as that passive switch thing will not work.
If you take yours apart and see that the rubber gizmo is mis-shapen with kinda permanent creases in it, that's your problem. Once it's out of shape, just be super extra careful putting it back and it'll go back to its original shape after a few days of not being folded or creased. It just makes it a little tougher to get it back together straight.

memory loss
The memory loss I was experiencing was which car the key fob was assigned to. It would stop working every few days, wouldn't lock or unlock doors or trunk. If I reprogramed it, it would start working again, but only for a few days.
I didn't have issues with the seat position memory or any other car memories or features, just couldn't unlock the car with the fob.
I have taken the key fob to an electronics repair shop and had the person there re-soldier the internal board and that fixed it. It's been working fine since then. The next day I took my other key fob that stopped working altogether and he also re-soldered that one, but it still doesn't work.
Hope this helps,
Mike
