Never mind. I did some more digging and found the answer in a 2008 post. It just took me a while. Sound like more than I would want to go through and expensive.

Is it more involved than just changing out the dash mounted manual control piece to a digital climate control piece? I got a feeling it probably is.
If so, is it hard to convert to digital?
Are we talking about the dual zone climate control? That is my only guess but I wouldn't have actually called it digital. I guess you could say that. I've seen countless fifth gen cars and that is the only possibility. You do not have dual zone?

I have the manual one that doesn't have temperature display and fancy lights. I just discovered that there was one with the display and lights and wondered if it was just a face plate swap.
Now, I know that it is more involved and not something that I want to tackle.

Are you talking about going from manual to the electronic one with the lights?
I found some posts from 2008 that said it was a really involved process and expensive to do.
