Ti ZO6 Mufflers
I'm thinking about picking up some ZO6 mufflers for my car to get rid of the B&B PRT's that are currently on it. They drone really bad around 1500 rpm and it drives my wife nuts (It does kind of beat your brains out). I always have to drive a gear lower than I would like to keep the rpms around 2000. They are also really raspy in a weird kind of way, kind of like a Mustang. Do the ZO6 mufflers drone at all? How about with headers and no cats? How much power should I expect to lose, and will I have to screw with the tune from the added back pressure?

No drone with headers, the only HP loss would be be from your ear dyno I doubt they would effect your tune.

I swapped out my Borla Stingers for TI a month or so back. I have had Borla's and BB's on my last 2 C5Z's and went back to TI's on both cars after listening to "drone" and not being able to carry on a normal conversation as well. I highly recommend the swap as I will NEVER change out my TI's again. They are light weight, have NO drone, flow extremely well (GM spent a good bit of time on development) and have a great tone at WOT all their own. Just do it and don't look back. No regrets. Enjoy the ride!

One of the best mods is LT's and TI's.
Have LG Pro's and TI's. The combined weight is 21lbs.
The sound is well.. get a pair and find out..no drone..

The Ti's should not drone, but another option would be to consider an x-pipe. I had a set of B&B Route 66s on a previous C5 and the drone/popping was terrible. Installed an x-pipe and I would say better than 95% of those two issues went away.

I already have a kooks of road x pipe installed.

as for that drone - how much sound insulation have you done on your car? I did a bunch of work installing mass-loaded vinyl in the wheel wells, and the cargo area. Made a very significant improvement. It was a big job, but well worth it.
Still have not done anything in the passenger compartment.
BTW - I have a 2001 vert, MT6. Switched to the Ti exhaust. They are really light compared to stock, and have a smoother tone.

WELL, you won't get much help from more sound deadener.
Ti exhaust is a proven winner. I highly endorse it.

As others haved said, there is no drone at all with the Ti exhaust, but it's just too quiet for me. It has a nice growl at wot but I like some rumble at low rpm's and it's just not there with the Ti. They are super light and fit very well, though.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm thinking about trading the PRT's for a set of Ti's with another forum member as we speak. The only thing I don't like as much are the tips, but I suppose those are replaceable.

The nice thing about the tips is you can get them to line up straight, and they look pretty good. A lot of aftermarket cat-backs have issues with getting the tips just right.
I personally love the Ti's with LT's. They're a tad on the quiet side, but zero drone, awesome tone, and really roars at WOT.
