Default Z06 Ti muffler drone/reverb

I think it's been 80k miles with Z06 Ti mufflers on my 2000 C5. They were connected to the stock exhaust and then later with XS Power longtubes with cats. Never had drone until I broke my trans/diff. Since I replaced the drivetrain from torque tube back, I've have very loud, low drone/reverb around 2500 RPM. Pretty sure it's exhaust since it happens when not moving or when I push the clutch in.

It's totally weird. Almost sounds like it's coming from my subwoofer it's that low and loud. Any suggestions on what might be causing this? My next step might be to throw the stock mufflers on to see if it makes a difference.

P.S. I did use a poly trans mount when I put it back together but can't think why that would matter since it seems to happen with clutch in or out.

Did you have to take your exhaust off for the transmission work? Sounds like you have an exhaust leak

I would check mufflers for cracks on welds and on can end plates. That was the cause on mine.

Thanks for the tips. I had rechecked the gaskets and pipes and retightened everything but I'll take the mufflers down and look for cracks. Another fear I had is that maybe something got loose inside. Bummer. I like the Ti exhaust.

Here is what is inside the muffler. If you hit it on a rolled edge with a rubber mallet it should not rattle.

See if your exhaust system is TOUCHING the body or frame some where when the engine is under load. Grab the piping and move it in its hanger system. It should not go SOLID anywhere.
