Default 99 c5 steering wheel position sensor

Good afternoon.

I was wondering if anyone knows the correct way to test a steering wheel position sensor for a 99. Looking at all the research on here they are all for 2001+ which I believe has a different sensor. When I replaced the steering rack with a new one.. the steering wheel moved and now I am getting a service Active handling. I know if I can get the right pins to be able to test and then realign the steering wheel i can fix it.

Thanks for the help

Greg

Thanks for the info.. I think I may have figured it out.. FIngers crossed when i pulled the Analog voltage at 2.5 and then checked the phase 1 & 2 pins looks like it all lines up with what it should be.. I am waiting for the car to cool down before I can disconnect the steering shaft and put it in its new place.

In the 2000 and older SWPS you could center the wheel correctly by using a VOM. Center the wheel and test the voltage, if it was 4.5V, as I recall you would turn in one revolution to the left and vice versa if it was less than 2.5V. Had that problem about 10 years ago and that is how I fixed it---as I recall.

Where do you test the voltage from?
